Bilateral Stimulation (BLS)

Diagram illustrating the brain stimulation cycle with memory integration and hemispheric activation.

What is it?

Bilateral Stimulation is designed to leverage the combination of physical stimulation and emotional understanding to decrease the intensity of disruptive memories and emotions. Individuals engaging with BLS will actively use a combination of visual, tactile, and audible stimuli depending on personal preference.

BLS can also be used to grow and promote positive thinking when faced with future stressful scenarios.

BLS can be conducted 100% remotely, using items you already have at home!

The "Orienting Response"

Bilateral stimulation triggers a mental response called the Orienting Response to help move attention away from disruptive thoughts and toward desired thought patterns. The Orienting Response is the reason our attention reflexively focuses on an unusual noise or a flashing light.
